TaskHuman Raises $20M in New Funding To Grow Its 1:1 Coaching Platform
A manager at a New York-based company recently decided to take a job at another firm. He and his new employer had settled on compensation, title, and start date, but there was one more important item on his list: The company he was leaving provided the TaskHuman app as a free benefit, and he wanted it in his new gig too.
“I can’t live without TaskHuman,” he wrote us later.
When I heard this story (spoiler alert – the new company agreed to his request), I smiled ear to ear. For me, it affirmed that we are truly making a difference in people’s lives. It illustrated how our goal to provide a universe of personalized guidance in people’s pockets is resonating in a big way.
Today, I’m excited to share more validation of our mission: We’ve closed a $20 million Series B funding round to expand our work to create self-care experiences tailored to the unique needs of any organization or employee.
We’re thrilled that this round led by Madrona, with participation from Impact Venture Capital, RingCentral Ventures, Sure Ventures, and USVP, alongside new investors Gaingels, PeopleTech Angels, Propel(x), Underdog Venture Team, and Zoom Ventures, and participating angel investors also include Hemant Thapar and Margo Georgiadis are joining us on this journey.
Since the day we founded TaskHuman, we have aimed to build an unprecedented resource: customized coaching in various aspects of daily work and personal life – mental, emotional, spiritual, physical, financial, and career well-being – via 1:1 video calls.
We’re in the vanguard of a new approach that growing numbers of organizations are taking to support employee well-being. It used to be common practice for employers to provide standard mental health services in their medical benefits packages but leave it up to employees to figure out the many other factors of sound mind, body, and spirit, from stress management and burnout prevention to sleep improvement to weight loss.
But we live in radically different times. Remote work has increased, working hours have become more fluid, and new job and life pressures have arisen and intensified. Greater responsibility is falling on employers to help their people thrive holistically in every part of their lives, which ultimately makes them happier and more productive employees.
Helping organizations address this historic shift and enabling people to improve their lives amid massive societal change isn’t just our business at TaskHuman, it’s our calling.
We’ve worked hard to scour the globe to find and curate a diverse network of specialists, and our digital coaching platform now enables users to instantly discover and connect via video with nearly 1,000 coaches in 40+ countries.
Organizations that provide TaskHuman as a benefit to support employees’ personal and professional goals include Zoom Video Communications, Inc., Juniper Networks, Medidata, Purdue University, RingCentral, IntelyCare, Southwest Transplant Alliance, One Workplace, and more global companies.
So what’s next?
Our company intends to use the new funding to continue expanding our coaching offerings to support people’s personal and professional needs, while continuing to bring on an even deeper global network of specialists, and build a larger infrastructure to reach even more users.
We’re beyond excited about these expansion plans because, at the end of the day, they mean we’ll be able to help more and more people.
I’m talking, of course, about our users, for whom TaskHuman has become a key resource for better managing their personal and professional lives, but also about the coaches who are leveraging the platform to easily share their expertise with people around the world.
Thank you so much to our investors, customers, users, and coaches. We’re on an amazing journey together, and the best is yet to come!
