Seattle-based AI Compliance Platform Certivo Raises $4M Seed Round

Seattle-based Certivo has raised a $4 million seed round led by Suffolk Technologies, with participation from Pioneer Square Ventures and other investors, to establish a new category: AI-native compliance automation. The company positions itself as an AI-native Compliance System of Record designed to replace fragmented, manual compliance workflows with continuously operating intelligent systems.

SEATTLE—Certivo, an AI-powered supply chain compliance management platform, today announced a $4 million seed round led by Suffolk Technologies with participation from Pioneer Square Ventures and other leading investors. The funding will accelerate product development, expand engineering and AI capabilities, and scale go-to-market efforts across manufacturing and the built world.

The investment marks the emergence of a new category: AI-native compliance automation — purpose-built to replace manual, fragmented compliance operations with continuously operating intelligent systems.

“Compliance complexity grows exponentially as companies scale,” said Kunal Chopra, CEO and Co-Founder of Certivo. “The regulatory wave around PFAS, DPP, CRA, and sustainability isn’t slowing down. It’s accelerating. Enterprises need infrastructure that scales with it. We built Certivo as an AI-native system that makes compliance continuous, proactive, and durable.”

Every major enterprise function has undergone automation over the past two decades while compliance has remained largely manual. Certivo replaces fragmented processes with an AI-native Compliance System of Record.

The platform deploys its AI agent CORA to:

Automatically request, validate, and normalize supplier documentation

Continuously monitor regulatory changes across jurisdictions

Map compliance obligations directly to product portfolios

Integrate into ERP, PLM, and procurement systems

Maintain a living, real-time compliance record

By combining intelligent automation with human compliance expertise and global partners, Certivo shifts organizations from reactive reporting cycles to continuous compliance operations.

The built world represents a particularly compelling entry point for Certivo. Building materials sit at the intersection of rapidly evolving safety codes, embodied carbon regulations, PFAS scrutiny, supply chain transparency mandates, and jurisdiction-specific product standards, yet compliance workflows remain highly manual and fragmented across manufacturers, contractors, and owners.

“As the construction and the broader built world sectors face unprecedented labor shortages, we consistently see compliance as a source of friction amongst the fragmented stakeholder set,” said Wan Li Zhu, Co-founder and Managing Director of Suffolk Technologies. “Certivo’s AI innovations can transform compliance from an operational constraint into a source of durable advantage.”

Compliance exists to protect what matters: people, products, markets, and trust. But as supply chains expand and regulations multiply, the volume, velocity, and variability of compliance data now exceed what manual systems can reliably manage. This is precisely where AI excels. AI systems can continuously monitor regulatory change, process unstructured supplier documentation, detect gaps, and adapt in real time — operating at a scale and speed that human teams alone cannot match. In today’s regulatory environment, compliance requires intelligence that is automatic, adaptive, and always operating.

As regulatory expectations tighten and sustainability becomes core to operating models, compliance is no longer a back-office function. It is a gating factor for market access, product shipment, and corporate reputation.
